This site is a tribute to Bernard Thomas, a brother, uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle who will be sorely missed by his family and the many friends he made over the years.  Despite contracting polio at an early age which left him with a weakness in his legs, he was determined in adulthood not to let that stop him from doing whatever he chose to do, from playing guitar in a band in his youth to travelling around the British Isles with his friend Nigel.  In later years a life threatening bout of pneumonia left him with COPD and reduced mobility but, fiercely independent, he was still working into his 70s and became closely involved with his local Shopmobility charity, acting as their Treasurer until another bout of pneumonia, coupled with his COPD and newly discovered heart failure, took him from us.  We will miss you Bernard but our fond memories will stay with us always.
